File Extensions – View or Hide

I would like to view my file extensions so, I completed the following steps:

1. from the top of your “My Computer” browser Menu:
2. Tools –> Folder Options…
3. from the “Folder Options” window, select the “View” tab.
4. within the “Advanced Settings:” box, you may not need to scroll down, but make sure the check-box for “Hide extensions for known file types” is empty (no green check-mark).
5. a “Warning” window may appear, of course, select “Yes”
6. at the bottom right of the “Folder Options” window, select the “Apply” button
7. select “OK”
8. close the “Folder Options” window
